Go Pro Hero 4 Black Kits
The Go Pro is the standard in high quality action cameras, this model shoots 1080p and 4k. It can be mounted using a variety of supports through the use of its waterproof casing which allows it to be used in almost all exterior conditions. This kit includes the Removu R1+ wireless remote and screen which allows you to frame your shots easily as well as providing remote recording control.
This kit is suggested for researchers who need a small discrete camera or action camera, but who value image quality over long continuous recording times. With the more advanced “Protune” settings the footage from this camera can be “graded” like higher end cameras. The camera is provided with multiple batteries, but it’s individual battery life is low.

The Drift Ghost-S is a rugged action camera with some unique features, it records in 1080p. It is waterproof without a casing (9 ft rating), it has a re-orientable lens which allows you to level your shots without having to change the mounting of the camera and can shoot for multiple hours at a time without changing batteries or memory cards. There are also a variety of mounts available at the lab for use with this camera.
This kit is suggested for researchers who need a discrete camera or action camera that can record continuously for long periods of time. It’s image quality is however not as high as the Go Pro Hero 4.
Drift Ghost-S Kits
The Panasonic HXA500 is a POV (Point of View) camera that shoots in 4k and 1080p. It has a unique design that can make it less intrusive looking than most other action cameras with a focus on body mounted points of view. This is due to its recording unit being connected to it’s lens by a cable rather than it all being in one piece like a Go Pro or Ghost-S. It is waterproof and dust proof (when the charging hatch is sealed) and comes in its kit with an eye level mount as well as a multi mount that can be strapped to a backpack or around a wrist.
This camera is ideal for a researcher who wants to capture an eye level point of view easily, or other body mounted perspectives without having the camera be as obtrusive. (It is not a spy camera, it will still be visible.) The camera has a short internal battery life, but is capable of running off the included usb battery pack for extended battery life.

The Giroptic 360cam is a 360° camera that records 2k video and 4k still images. This camera uses a unique three lens and three microphone design to create 360° images and videos with accompanying 360° sound. It’s a small format action style camera and can be remotely controlled via a smartphone app.
It uses an interchangeable base design to provide the camera different functions and the kit includes the three available bases. The basic base is for standard camera operation, the ethernet base allows streaming over the internet and the lightbulb base allows streaming over a local wifi network.
The camera's files or streaming functions are accessed with free downloadable software from the manufacturers website ensuring proper stitching and uploading of footage to Youtube or Facebook.
